Władysław T. Zapała, D.Sc. (Eng.),

born in 1955, graduated in 1979 from the Mining Faculty of the Silesian Technical University in Gliwice (Poland) as a Master of Science in Mining Electrical Engineering.

In 1980 he was an employee of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Automation of Mining.

In 1988 he obtained his doctor's degree at Mining Faculty of the Silesian Technical University.

At present he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mining Electrical Engineering and Automation in Mining.

For his scientific and research works he was awarded several prizes by Rector of Silesian Technical University.

He has published over 30 articles and 4 textbooks on automation in mines.
